Through the night, sleep does the work nothing else can. It is when hormones that govern appetite, stress and recovery are brought back into balance, when muscle and tissue repair, and when memory is filed away for the morning.

Short and broken sleep does the opposite. Research links poor rest to raised blood pressure, weaker immunity, low mood and foggy thinking. Look after sleep and you are looking after the body.
