The design
Bedlington
A deep cushioned headboard, hand-tufted in a sharp diamond pattern, sitting between two generous winged sides that frame the bed like a private alcove.
The Bedlington was designed for the bedroom that wants to make a statement. The silhouette carries a bare wall with confidence and holds its own in a heavily layered room. The diamond tufting catches the light from every angle, the wings curl forward to enclose the pillows, and the whole frame reads as one architectural piece.
This is the bed for the customer who treats the bed as the first decision in a bedroom, not the last. Every other choice, the rug, the side tables, the art, builds outward from here.
Crafted, not assembled. Every Bedlington is handmade to order in our UK workshop, built by the same craftspeople who have supplied Harrods, Furniture Village and Harrison Spinks for over two decades. Solid FSC beech frame. FSC certified timbers. A precision-engineered slat system, slats only 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. Available as a non storage bed (finished on legs) or with our SATRA-certified ottoman lift tested to 250kg, manual or powered. On ottoman and adjustable bases, the frame sits flush to the floor for maximum storage underneath.

The mattress rests directly on top of the upholstered side rails rather than dropping inside the frame. The rails sit hidden, so the bed reads as one clean unbroken upholstered line.

Five bases. One decision that changes the room.
The base changes the height, the floor line and how much you can store. Non storage sits on legs. Every storage and adjustable base sits flush to the floor. Tap a base to choose it.
Why it takes five weeks
Your bed does not exist yet. That is the point.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Once you order, your frame is cut, upholstered and checked by hand in our British workshop, in your fabric and your size.

Before you order
Questions about made to order
Why does it take five weeks?
Your bed is built after you order it, in your fabric and your size. The 25 working days cover cutting, framing, upholstery, a final inspection and booking your delivery slot.
Can I get it sooner?
Add Fast Track Production for £300 and your bed moves to the front of the build queue, with delivery within two weeks. Fast Track is available to mainland UK addresses only. If you need a bed within days, our Quick Ship range holds a small number of finished beds ready to go.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Change your size, base, fabric or feet free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that your fabric is cut and the build has started.
Will it fit up my stairs?
Your bed arrives in separate parts, the headboard, the base and the fittings, and our team assembles it in your room. The headboard is the largest single piece. If access is tight, send a photo of your stairs, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.
What if it is not right for me?
Every bed carries our 90-Night Comfort Exchange, made to order beds included. Because your bed is built for you, it cannot be returned for a refund unless it is faulty or not what you ordered. If it arrives faulty, we put it right at our cost.
How is it delivered?
By our own team, not a courier. Choose drop off or two man installation above and we will not ask again at checkout.
