Cambridgeshire
Two cushion panels framed by Oxford seams. Clean, modern, no wings, no fuss.
The Cambridgeshire headboard is built from two soft padded cushion panels sitting side by side, each one finished with a defined Oxford seam tracing the edge. The seam is the detail that lifts it. Sharper than a plain pillow-back, more architectural than a soft cushion, modern enough to sit in a contemporary room without looking dated.

If you're choosing between Cambridgeshire and Double Cushion, the seam is the difference. Double Cushion has the same twin-cushion shape without the Oxford edge, so it reads softer and less defined. Cambridgeshire has the seam and the cleaner line.
If you're choosing between Cambridgeshire and Oxy, the build is the difference. Oxy is the simpler, more streamlined version. Cambridgeshire is engineered for serious use. Solid FSC beech frame, slats only 3cm apart, 15 year frame guarantee, fully customisable across sizes, bases, and over 100 fabrics. The Cambridgeshire is what you order when you want the same shape but built to last.
The footboard is low and rolled, the side rails clean, the legs short and dark. On the non storage base, the legs lift the bed off the floor. Choose ottoman or adjustable instead and the legs are removed, the base sits flush, and the full footprint becomes deep storage underneath.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades. Solid FSC beech frame. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. SATRA-certified ottoman lift tested to 250kg, OKIN motors on the powered variant. 15 year frame guarantee. Delivered and installed by our own team, not a courier.

Want to see it first? Order swatches before you commit, 50p each. The image shows a deep rust velvet, but the same shape carries warm neutrals, navy, forest green, espresso.

The mattress rests directly on top of the upholstered side rails rather than dropping inside the frame. The rails sit hidden, so the bed reads as one clean unbroken upholstered line.

Five bases. One decision that changes the room.
The base changes the height, the floor line and how much you can store. Non storage sits on legs. Every storage and adjustable base sits flush to the floor. Tap a base to choose it.
Why it takes five weeks
Your bed does not exist yet. That is the point.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Once you order, your frame is cut, upholstered and checked by hand in our British workshop, in your fabric and your size.

Getting it into your room
The headboard is the largest single piece.
- The side rails, base and platform are smaller parts, each packed separately, and our team assembles them in your room.
- If we cannot get your bed into the room on delivery day, you can cancel your order, so you can buy without the worry.
- Tight stairs? Send a photo of your staircase, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.

Questions about made to order
Why does it take five weeks?
Your bed is built after you order it, in your fabric and your size. The 25 working days cover cutting, framing, upholstery, a final inspection and booking your delivery slot.
Can I get it sooner?
Add Fast Track Production for £300 and your bed moves to the front of the build queue, with delivery within two weeks. Fast Track is available to mainland UK addresses only. If you need a bed within days, our Quick Ship range holds a small number of finished beds ready to go.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Change your size, base, fabric or feet free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that your fabric is cut and the build has started.
Will it fit up my stairs?
Your bed arrives in separate parts, the headboard, the base and the fittings, and our team assembles it in your room. The headboard is the largest single piece. If access is tight, send a photo of your stairs, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.
What if it is not right for me?
Every bed carries our 90-Night Comfort Exchange, made to order beds included. Because your bed is built for you, it cannot be returned for a refund unless it is faulty or not what you ordered. If it arrives faulty, we put it right at our cost.
How is it delivered?
By our own team, not a courier. Choose drop off or two man installation above and we will not ask again at checkout.
