The design
Chelsea
A tall geometric headboard split by metal trim lines in an Art Deco fan. Statement piece, no apologies.
The Chelsea is the most graphic bed in the range. The headboard rises tall and full-width, divided into geometric upholstered panels by slim metal trim lines that fan across the surface like the spokes of a stretched compass. The trim catches the light from every angle. The upholstery sits in deep, soft segments between the metal lines. The whole thing reads like a piece of architectural metalwork that happens to also be a bed.

Three trim finishes available, brass, copper, and silver. Brass for warm period rooms, copper for richer heritage schemes, silver for cooler contemporary spaces. The trim choice changes the personality of the bed entirely, so swatches matter as much as fabric here.
The footboard is low and rolled, the side rails plain, the legs short and dark wood. On the non storage base, the legs lift the bed off the floor. Choose ottoman or adjustable instead and the legs are removed, the base sits flush, and the full footprint becomes deep storage underneath.
The Chelsea is for the bedroom that wants the bed to be the statement. Period panelling, listed-building drawing rooms, contemporary apartments with serious art on the walls. It rewards attention. It does not retreat.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades. Solid FSC beech frame. Metal trim hand-set into the headboard panel by panel. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. The mattress rests directly on top of the upholstered side rails rather than dropping inside the frame. The rails sit hidden, so the bed reads as one clean unbroken upholstered line.

The base changes the height, the floor line and how much you can store. Non storage sits on legs. Every storage and adjustable base sits flush to the floor. Tap a base to choose it.

Your bed does not exist yet. That is the point.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Once you order, your frame is cut, upholstered and checked by hand in our British workshop, in your fabric and your size.

Getting it into your room
The headboard is the largest single piece.
- The side rails, base and platform are smaller parts, each packed separately, and our team assembles them in your room.
- If we cannot get your bed into the room on delivery day, you can cancel your order, so you can buy without the worry.

Before you order
Questions about made to order
Why does it take five weeks?
Your bed is built after you order it, in your fabric and your size. The 25 working days cover cutting, framing, upholstery, a final inspection and booking your delivery slot.
Can I get it sooner?
Add Fast Track Production for £300 and your bed moves to the front of the build queue, with delivery within two weeks. Fast Track is available to mainland UK addresses only. If you need a bed within days, our Quick Ship range holds a small number of finished beds ready to go.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Change your size, base, fabric or feet free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that your fabric is cut and the build has started.
Will it fit up my stairs?
Your bed arrives in separate parts, the headboard, the base and the fittings, and our team assembles it in your room. The headboard is the largest single piece. If access is tight, send a photo of your stairs, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.
What if it is not right for me?
Every bed carries our 90-Night Comfort Exchange, made to order beds included. Because your bed is built for you, it cannot be returned for a refund unless it is faulty or not what you ordered. If it arrives faulty, we put it right at our cost.
How is it delivered?
By our own team, not a courier. Choose drop off or two man installation above and we will not ask again at checkout.
