The Emma is a sofa bed engineered to disappear as a sofa bed. The seat and back cushions are fully attached to the frame, no loose parts to wrestle with, so the conversion takes three seconds and one hand. Pull the seat forward, the back rolls down, the bed lays flat. Reverse it the same way. No tucking, no aligning, no swearing.

The shape is deliberately simple. Square arms, low square back, two seat cushions, two back cushions, all upholstered as one continuous piece. The frame sits low on a small dark plinth base. No skirts, no piping, no studs. Clean enough to read as a contemporary sofa, not a piece of guest-room compromise furniture.

Inside is the Sedac Epona roll-out action, the mechanism we held UK distribution rights for from 1962 to 2020. It's the action other British sofa beds quietly aspire to, engineered in France for daily use rather than occasional guests. It sleeps as well as it sits because the mechanism doesn't fold the mattress in half.
