The design
Langdon
A grid of squared panels across the headboard. The Langdon, settling rather than competing.
The Langdon headboard is divided into a clean grid of upholstered panels, six even rectangles arranged in two rows. Each panel sits flush, with subtle stitched seams between them rather than buttons, channels or trim. The grid gives the bed quiet structure without making it feel formal. The face is plain within each panel, the side rails clean, the footboard low and rolled.

This is the bed for the customer who has stopped chasing trend pieces and started buying things that hold their own ten years in. No drama, no statement, just a properly built frame in a shape that doesn't date.
The base is finished on slim turned light wood legs when ordered as a non storage frame. Choose ottoman or adjustable instead and the legs are removed, the base sits flush to the floor, and the full footprint becomes deep storage underneath.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades, in a family business making furniture since 1968. Solid FSC beech frame. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. SATRA-certified ottoman lift tested to 250kg, 30cm storage depth, OKIN motors on the powered variant. 15 year frame guarantee. Delivered and installed by our own team, not a courier.
Made your way. Choose from over 100 fabrics across velvets, linens, bouclés and weaves. Available in every size, Single through Emperor, with bespoke sizing on request.
Want to see it first? Order swatches before you commit, 50p each. The image shows a soft oat velvet, but the same shape carries deep chocolate, navy, espresso, dusty pink, cream linen.

The mattress rests directly on top of the upholstered side rails rather than dropping inside the frame. The rails sit hidden, so the bed reads as one clean unbroken upholstered line.

The base changes the height, the floor line and how much you can store. Non storage sits on legs. Every storage and adjustable base sits flush to the floor. Tap a base to choose it.
Why it takes five weeks
Your bed does not exist yet. That is the point.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Once you order, your frame is cut, upholstered and checked by hand in our British workshop, in your fabric and your size.

Getting it into your room
The headboard is the largest single piece.
- The side rails, base and platform are smaller parts, each packed separately, and our team assembles them in your room.
- If we cannot get your bed into the room on delivery day, you can cancel your order, so you can buy without the worry.
- Tight stairs? Send a photo of your staircase, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.

Questions about made to order
Why does it take five weeks?
Your bed is built after you order it, in your fabric and your size. The 25 working days cover cutting, framing, upholstery, a final inspection and booking your delivery slot.
Can I get it sooner?
Add Fast Track Production for £300 and your bed moves to the front of the build queue, with delivery within two weeks. Fast Track is available to mainland UK addresses only. If you need a bed within days, our Quick Ship range holds a small number of finished beds ready to go.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Change your size, base, fabric or feet free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that your fabric is cut and the build has started.
Will it fit up my stairs?
Your bed arrives in separate parts, the headboard, the base and the fittings, and our team assembles it in your room. The headboard is the largest single piece. If access is tight, send a photo of your stairs, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.
What if it is not right for me?
Every bed carries our 90-Night Comfort Exchange, made to order beds included. Because your bed is built for you, it cannot be returned for a refund unless it is faulty or not what you ordered. If it arrives faulty, we put it right at our cost.
How is it delivered?
By our own team, not a courier. Choose drop off or two man installation above and we will not ask again at checkout.
