The design
Princess
Vertical fluting in the centre, plain wings curling forward, scalloped along the top. The Princess, the most architectural of the curved-wing beds.
The Princess headboard combines two of our strongest details. The central panel is fluted in deep vertical channels that run the full height, finished with a softly scalloped top edge that curves along the upper line of each channel. The plain wraparound wings rise to the same height on either side and curl forward to enclose the bed. The contrast between the structured fluting and the smooth wings is what makes the Princess read as architectural rather than decorative.

This is one of our featured beds for a reason. The fluting catches the light and shadow as you move through the room. The wings hold the proportions. The scalloped top adds softness without breaking the geometry. It's the kind of bed that anchors a panelled room or a bay-window bedroom without overpowering it.
Choose your base. Non storage on slim turned dark legs, manual ottoman for everyday lift-up storage, electric ottoman for touch-of-a-button access, or full adjustable platform. On ottoman and adjustable bases, the legs are removed and the base sits flush to the floor for maximum storage.
If you've been looking at fluted curved-wing beds from Sweetpea & Willow or Darlings of Chelsea and finding them either underbuilt or wildly overpriced, the Princess is the answer. Same architectural ambition, our manufacturing.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades. Solid FSC beech frame. Fluted panel hand-stitched channel by channel, scalloped top hand-cut. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. SATRA-certified ottoman lift tested to 250kg, OKIN motors on the powered variant. 15 year frame guarantee. Delivered and installed by our own team, not a courier.

Want to see it first? Order swatches before you commit, 50p each. The image shows a rich espresso velvet, but the same shape carries deep heritage greens, navy, oxblood, cream linen.

The mattress rests directly on top of the upholstered side rails rather than dropping inside the frame. The rails sit hidden, so the bed reads as one clean unbroken upholstered line.

The base changes the height, the floor line and how much you can store. Non storage sits on legs. Every storage and adjustable base sits flush to the floor. Tap a base to choose it.

Your bed does not exist yet. That is the point.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Once you order, your frame is cut, upholstered and checked by hand in our British workshop, in your fabric and your size.

Getting it into your room
The headboard is the largest single piece.
- The side rails, base and platform are smaller parts, each packed separately, and our team assembles them in your room.
- If we cannot get your bed into the room on delivery day, you can cancel your order, so you can buy without the worry.
- Tight stairs? Send a photo of your staircase, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.

Before you order
Questions about made to order
Why does it take five weeks?
Your bed is built after you order it, in your fabric and your size. The 25 working days cover cutting, framing, upholstery, a final inspection and booking your delivery slot.
Can I get it sooner?
Add Fast Track Production for £300 and your bed moves to the front of the build queue, with delivery within two weeks. Fast Track is available to mainland UK addresses only. If you need a bed within days, our Quick Ship range holds a small number of finished beds ready to go.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Change your size, base, fabric or feet free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that your fabric is cut and the build has started.
Will it fit up my stairs?
Your bed arrives in separate parts, the headboard, the base and the fittings, and our team assembles it in your room. The headboard is the largest single piece. If access is tight, send a photo of your stairs, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before we cut.
What if it is not right for me?
Every bed carries our 90-Night Comfort Exchange, made to order beds included. Because your bed is built for you, it cannot be returned for a refund unless it is faulty or not what you ordered. If it arrives faulty, we put it right at our cost.
How is it delivered?
By our own team, not a courier. Choose drop off or two man installation above and we will not ask again at checkout.
