Getting it into your room
The headboard is the largest single piece, no more than 165 cm wide and 125 cm tall. If it goes through your door and up your stairs, the rest of the bed will too.
- The side rails, base and platform are smaller parts, each packed separately, and our team assembles them in your room.
- If we cannot get your bed into the room on delivery day, you can cancel your order, so you can buy without the worry.
- Tight stairs? Send a photo of your staircase, landing and doorway to sales@thesleepco.com and we will check before it leaves us.
Which mattress fits?
Your mattress sits on top of the side rails, so any standard UK Double mattress (135 x 190 cm) fits, whatever its depth.
A one off special. This exact piece is already made and ready to go, identical in every respect to the made to order version. There is only one, and when it sells the listing closes.
Vertical fluting in the centre, plain wings curling forward, scalloped along the top. The Princess, the most architectural of the curved-wing beds.
The Princess headboard combines two of our strongest details. The central panel is fluted in deep vertical channels that run the full height, finished with a softly scalloped top edge that curves along the upper line of each channel. The plain wraparound wings rise to the same height on either side and curl forward to enclose the bed. The contrast between the structured fluting and the smooth wings is what makes the Princess read as architectural rather than decorative.
This is one of our featured beds for a reason. The fluting catches the light and shadow as you move through the room. The wings hold the proportions. The scalloped top adds softness without breaking the geometry. It's the kind of bed that anchors a panelled room or a bay-window bedroom without overpowering it.
If you've been looking at fluted curved-wing beds from Sweetpea & Willow or Darlings of Chelsea and finding them either underbuilt or wildly overpriced, the Princess is the answer. Same architectural ambition, our manufacturing.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade in our British workshop by the same craftspeople who have supplied Britain's leading bed retailers for over two decades. Solid hardwood frame. FSC-certified timbers. Fluted panel hand-stitched channel by channel, scalloped top hand-cut. Slats 3cm apart, rated for our heaviest natural-fill mattresses. OKIN motors on the adjustable base. 15 year frame guarantee. Free delivery to your door anywhere in mainland UK, with two man installation into the room of your choice for £120.
Princess. Fluted panel, scalloped top, curved wings, made in Britain.

Questions
Is this the same as the made to order bed?
Yes. Same frame, materials and upholsterers in the same British workshop. The only difference is that it has already been made, so the fabric and size are fixed.
Is it new?
Yes. It is brand new, wrapped and unused, waiting in our warehouse rather than in the build queue.
Does it come with a mattress?
No. The price is for the bed shown. Add a mattress above and it travels on the same delivery.
Can I change the fabric, size or legs?
Not on this one, because it is already built. If you would like something different, the Princess is available made to order in our full fabric library, delivered in around 45 days. Order fabric samples if you want to see a colour first.
When will it arrive?
Around 10 days. Once you order, our team calls to agree a day that suits you. Delivery to your front door on mainland UK is free; two man installation into the room of your choice is £120.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel within 14 days of delivery for any reason. Tell us and we will collect it, and you pay the £180 collection cost.
What if someone else buys it first?
Each Quick Ship listing is a finished piece. Adding it to your basket does not hold it. Only checkout does.
