Pull the seat. The bed lays flat.
Curved sweeping arms, buttoned back panel. The Sofia, the design-led top of the sofa bed range.
The Sofia is the most distinctive sofa bed silhouette we make. The arms sweep upward and outward in a continuous curve from a low front point to a higher back, more reminiscent of a 1960s Italian design house piece than a British sofa. The back is a single tightly buttoned panel set with regular buttons across its surface. The seat cushions are deep and soft, the plinth base low and dark, and the whole frame reads as a designed object first, a sofa bed second.
Inside is the Sedac Epona roll-out action, the same mechanism we use across the rest of the premium sofa bed range. The family of actions we held UK distribution rights for from 1962 to 2020. Pull the seat forward, the back rolls down, the bed lays flat. One-handed conversion in seconds.
If you're choosing across the sofa bed range, this is where Sofia sits. Emma is the contemporary square-armed sofa, low and urban. Milly is the heritage English roll-arm. Riana is the cube-buttoned high-leg statement piece. Sofia is the architecturally curved design-led piece, the one that would look at home in a Milan showroom or a high-end interior designer's portfolio.
This is the sofa bed for serious living rooms. Architectural townhouses, design-conscious apartments, anywhere a sofa needs to read as a single distinctive piece rather than blend into the room.
Crafted not assembled. Handmade to order in our British workshop. Solid hardwood frame. FSC-certified timbers. The sweeping curved arms hand-built and hand-stitched by the same craftspeople who work on every piece we make. Sedac Epona action paired with our own upholstery and frame engineering. White glove delivery and assembly anywhere in mainland UK.
Guaranteed for 15 years. The whole sofa bed, mechanism and pocket sprung mattress included, not just the frame. Most sofa bed guarantees cover the frame for life, the one part that never breaks. Ours covers the parts that do the work.
Made your way. Choose from over 100 fabrics across velvets, linens, bouclés and weaves.

A memory layer over pocket springs, for a bed that gets slept in every week.
A latex layer over pocket springs. Springier underneath you and sleeps cooler than memory.

Questions people ask before ordering
Will it fit through my door and up my stairs?
Your sofa bed arrives fully assembled, so first check your narrowest doorway and stair turn against the overall depth and height in the size guide. If it will not go through, our drivers can take it apart: the arms and back come off and the seat and bed action separate, then they put it back together in your room. The largest part is then the seat, so the seat width and depth are the figures to check. If access is tight, email sales@thesleepco.com with a photo before you order.
How long does it take?
About 25 working days from order. With Fast Track Production it is delivered within 2 weeks, for mainland UK addresses.
