The Durham headboard rises tall and full-width, with a softly arched top edge and substantial wings on either side that curl forward to enclose the bed. The wings are deep enough to sit alongside the pillows rather than just framing them, almost forming a private alcove behind the head of the bed. The face is completely plain, no buttoning, no channelling, no piping, just a stretched panel that lets the depth of the upholstery do the work.
The footboard is low and rolled. The legs are slim and tapered in a pale wood finish. The whole frame reads as confident but quiet. Period drawing room, panelled study, country house bedroom, the Durham earns its place because the silhouette is genuinely architectural rather than decorative.
